While looking thru catalogs and on-line I noticed the model years go like this; 95-2003 then 2005-2007. 2004 is not usually listed. I am particularly interested in forward controls.

I have bought a new set of pipes, and they are currently in the mail. What I was wondering is how do I take the exhaust flanges off the old set and install on the new set. This is for an 03 sportster 1200.

I have a 2008 FLHRC - I bought this kit, but the instructions are missing. its a Harley Engine/Transmission Interface and Top Cover Kit. Can anyone help please ?
Thanx

I have a job interview tomorrow to be a parts counter guy for a Harley Davidson dealership. I don't know much, just basic mechanical stuff. I do like Harleys of course. I'll replace my 84 Shadow with one when I get the money. What would be good to know before I go?
I'm on wikipedia reading about engines, model designations and families now.

not too many harley dealers in my parts so im looking for other means...also looking for numbers on Cross Reference for headlight bulb have heard there others besides harley davidson.

If someone wasn't an expert and was rebuilding or restoring an old Harley, like a Knucklehead, are there any parts or pieces that might be easy to mistakenly put on backward, upside down, or wrong without realizing?

It doesn't really matter what part of the bike it is, or whether or not it would affect how the bike runs (or doesn't) as long as an expert, looking at it would be able to tell right away.

Just wondering if the Screamin' Eagle has a deep thunderous rumble sound or if it's a more high-pitched popping sound, kind of like a machine gun. Thanks!!!
To flattrack, it's a simple question. if all you have to do is sit on yahoo answers and troll all day, you should consider getting a job and quit mooching off the government. I didn't know how else to describe was I was trying to ask...if that offends you, get over it!

I need to figure out what kind of part i labeled like this:

BDC - PC - 139 - 1 for a USA 197Q, possibly a belt of some sort.

If someone can help please tell me as well where I can purchase one.

my harley davidson starts and idles just fine, but when i throttle up it spews fire from the exhaust

My boyfriend just bought a Harley-Davidson Sportster and we have been riding a lot lately, but we need some more Harley clothing and other things. We went to a HD shop to look but t-shirts run from 25 bucks on up to 60! I am unwilling to spend that much for one t-shirt! Does anyone know where to find Harley stuff at a better price? I've already looked at Amazon.com and have found a few things but not enough.
You can't purchase anything from the Harley-Davidson website, it tells you to go to a HD dealer. I've been there, done that.

I have a 2006 Harley Road King and it has stock duals. I want to keep the look of the duals but I want it to be louder. I don't want to wake the neighborhood but I want people to hear me when I'm on the throttle. What kind of pipes or slip-ons would fix both of these? I haven't ever changed pipes before is it something that I can do pretty easy or should i just shell out the money and pay the harley shop to do it?

I have a 2005 Harley FXST softail standard with 88ci carburated engine, with Vance and Hines straightshots HS installed by Harley. I am wanting to put unbaffled Samson Groundpounders on it because I like the sound so much better. I am wanting to know if there are any pros out there who can tell me what if anything special I need to do to it first. I have heard lots of things about back pressure, reversion cones, torque cones, nothing at all, just slap them on. ect. ect.
I am needing help so I do it right. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Where I live nobody cares about the roar! Thanks in advance........

I thought true dual exaust pipes on a Harley was that both pipes where same length to the baffeles?

Is it the gas tank? The air filter cover? The frame? There are so many motorcycles that look like a Harley. Some even better and cheaper. For example, Independence makes a beautiful bike that uses mostly the same parts. Custom bike builders use the same parts. But what part makes the bike a Harley?

I am looking for ideas for a personalized plate for my Harley, and since I have Screaming Eagle pipes I was thinking of trying 'WHAT' as I can only use 4 characters and I would like something funny. Would most people get what this means without a question mark on the plate?
Hey Art......
Bought the bike with the pipes and you know something.... People notice I'm on the road more than a quieter bike. Ever hear 'Loud pipes save lives'? It's true for a motorcycle.

i have a 2000 sportster 883 what all back rest can i use

the guy at the harley shop says new samson pipes come with baffels that cannot be removed...is this true? if not how do i get more sound or remove them all together?

for example, ( forward controls) or etc???

I have a 2004 sportster 1200. Right now it has screaming eagles on it but its not as loud as i want it to be.
I know there are a lot, but i want the loudest. If you have the loudest sportster around your block then want brand did you use?
