New '04 Road King (248 miles) I want something that sounds more like the rumble of old.............
Archive for September, 2009
I want to deepen the sound at idle and louden the sound at excelleration. I don't care about having my king "bark" or louden it to obnoxious...but I do want it louder and a deeper rummble than stock.
Keep 2 into 1 or have a true dual with Rinehart exhaust? Which will increase performance and create a deeper sound?
The old exhaust mount runs through the swing arm mount, on a huge (inch an 1/8 - I'm guessing) bolt. If I take this off - do I need to put soime kind of a spacer in its place & how the heck do i get the bolt out?
would like to know which harley davidson exhaust is louder and has a better performance on a roadking with true dual exhaust, between rinehart true duals,or thunder header exhaust systems. tkx ez.
I have a 2004 Night Train with a Wimmer spike air intake and the Supertrapp Phantom 2 into 1 pipe (no baffles of course). I had a Power Commander installed and tuned with my old pipes that were similar. It seems the new pipe backfires more often and way louder. Is there a leak? Am I burning too rich or too lean? Can I use the manual adjustment on my Power Commander to fix this problem?
it is fuel injected.
I want to know why Harley Davidsons can be as LOUD as they want, but if a guy puts headers on his Camaro with a converter and full pipes, then you get pulled over for disturbing the peace? This happened to my brother before in his mustang. It seems to be a little unfair. If you going to make a lot of noise and disturb the peace, might as well be a good V8 rumble and not what i sound like when i eat pizza and pass gas.
Does any one have a suggestion for a low sounding replacement muffler for a 2005 ElectraGlide?
I'm looking for something that isn't much louder than the stock mufflers.
will the pipes fit from an 07 twin cam fit an 05 of the same model?
I don't blame you guys
I would be upset too if my 2005-2006 HD with low miles and with 00 in added accessories took it to a HD Dealer and asked for a trade in price on a new bike and was only offered 00!
I know how you feel
you bought a HD because of the high resale value, and if you try to sell to yourself in the classified adds nobody is going to buy it cause they don't have that much cash on hand.
I really feel for you guys, the only thing that's sensible to do is to keep your Harley and hope in the future the economy improves and your bike goes up in value
25 miles on Bike blisters on thighs cannot ride in day light. Dealer says its my riding style. I cant ride standing on the seat.
2009 harley needs a great exhaust sound and who knows what works the best.
I just purchased my first Harley Sportster, and wanted to know where to go to find price comparisons on parts I need to order. I'm a female so I'm scared of going to the local shops and getting taken advantage of. They see a lady walking in and know right away I'm a newbie. I just need to know where to go so I can get the real facts on what these parts should cost. Is there even such a place??? Help I've already been taken for once and I'm not even certain what the heck I purchased!
I have found 2 potential Sportster to buy for my next bike. One is a 2002 883 with 11,000 miles on it. it doesnt have many after market parts but looks like a clean bike. Its a private seller (in the midwest) and he is asking 00 for it. It looks like a really good deal, but should i be worried he is trying to rip me off some how? The second bike i am looking at is a 2000 883 with a lot of after market parts. Its a private seller, but the guy works for the local Harley Dealership, and it seems like the bike was taken care of. He wants 00 for it (originally 4700). The exhaust is LOUD..almost too loud (call me crazy). but i have to work early mornings and dont want to wake the entire neighborhood up while i pull out. What would be a good exhaust that would give me some roar, but that wouldnt kill my ears. I think the 2002 looks a little better, but am worried something might B wrong because of the lower price, plus i would have to drive 3 hours to go pick it up. Suggestions?
and can still be referred to as "Made in America" then I'm thinking a Honda Gold Wing currently assembled in Marysville, Ohio from many, many foreign parts can also be called "American made"...right?
It is standard right now, but i want to fix it up nice but not pay more than i got!!!! It's an 08 superglide.
I heard that many harley parts are made overseas, and not in the good old U.S.of A.
I have an 1983 75th anniversary of the V twin Harley Davidson black powder pistol. there were 5000 made I do not know how many were sold. It is in the origanal shipping cartton, the certified letter from Harley saying that the fire arm may not be legal in all states, the 1984 Fashion and Accessory catalog that the pistol was listed in, and all the related items that came with the pistol. Can any one tell me what this pistol would be worth, and it is for sale.
Thanks George
I will be getting my first Harley and I want to know what I'm working with and what I'm talking about. When someone asks me what kind of air cleaner I've got or what engine I'm running (which are just a couple things I know) I want to know what they are talking about and how to answer. Also, I want to know what & where each part is so I know what I'm looking at. . . Hope this makes sense and thanks in advance for any information you may be able to give. . .:o)
rineharts too loud for me and the new screaming eagles are not enough
Please dont say the harley will keep getting leaks and parts will fall off because its just not true.
But which one is better performance wise based on each companies reputation today and not the past?
