In fact, since those are the same manufacturers that supply components to most of the Jap makes as well as Ducati (see who makes their forks , instruments), Triumph (their electrics), etc, I guess that either makes makes Harleys good bikes or all the other brands crappy bikes. And Harleys have Jahns (German made) pistons and a Porsche designed V-Rod motor, so that puts them in bed with the Germans also. It's a world market out there john h. Manufacturers are going to search for the best quality, least expensive component they can find regardless of what country they're in. Harley would be stupid to buy some crappy, undependable electrics. Why do you think Triumph uses Japanese electrics instead of their lousy home built Lucas??? Why also do you think China buys boat load after boatload of Caterpillar industrial equipment? It's the best there is, plain and simple and they're too smart to buy undependable junk.
