my grandpa seen a harley davision today that he said looked like it had giant training wheels on the back. He talked to the people that owned it they told him what it was, but he forgot the name of it. So he wants me to look it up but i don't really have anything to go on. So any names that fit the kit description or whatever would be nice. thanx.
I am looking for the case "tranny" also need shifter top bar, or complete unit. This is a 4 speed transmission.
My point is, I'm thinking of building a rigid shovelhead without the headache of welding, hacking, pounding, using a file and sanding. What's your experience or nightmare?
I bought a Genuine Harley windshield for my Harley from a Harley Dealer, back in April, less the 90 days ago and more then 30 days has pasted. I took the windshield back to the same deal because one on the quick release clamps broke. With receipt in hand! First the counter man said they can’t warranty it because I put reflective tape on the bottom of the front of the windshield. I said it’s the clamp that’s broken, and the nuts, of all things, have rust on them. He went and talked to the parts manage, back and forth a few times and the parts manager came out to tell me it’s a 30 warranty not a 90 day warranty. They are going to replace the clamp, because they are deep down nice guys but not the windshield because they can’t warranty rusty nuts.
The worries part of talking to the parts manage is he said they can’t warranty rust on the nuts because they don’t know what environment the bike was stored in. I asked to see the warranty document and he said there wasn’t one.
I am from New Mexico and I need to know where I can start buying parts for a Harley. I dont have the money to buy one off the lot, so I decided to bulid my own. My dad and his buddys have been on me for a while to start putting one together, (thats how most of them got started back in the day) and I dont know where to find used parts,or even a non running bike to work with? everywhere I look all I can find is S&S, or some high dollar shiny crap, or new Harley parts. is there a type of swap meet on line or something. twice a year around here there is a bike week that you can buy stuff but I want to start looking now. Thanks for any advise. Im sick of staying home, or being the tail vehicle during runs.
I need a tank and a set of bars for an '09 Street Bob (Dyna FXDB) I need the tank in Black Denim, I'm sure an older tank will work. Don't want to go to the $tealer$hip for the parts. Anyone out there know of a place that sells Harley parts exclusively??? (Long story, I dropped my brand new bike, I'm verrrry sad
!!!)
Wheres a good place to go to trick out my new bike?
I just bought a 2001 H-D Heritage Softail Classic.
So far I've looked at Drag Specialties and looked around at the local H-D Dealer. So any ideas on where to look for awesome stuff?
I have a 2004 Harley Sportster 1500 Custom and have been changing out the stock parts since. I need to sell them ASAP, all parts are in excellent condition. Where should I go?

my bike is at a dealer and they are having problems finding one to , plus i've already got in the parts manuel and no on will have it till Sept.
I already checked Ebay also theis is a very hard part to find, otherwise the bike shop wouldve found it
I have been thru all the different companies and the earliest anyone will have one is Sept...... what i need to know - do you know anyone that works on bikes or has parts laying around.
I would just like to see a checklist of stuff to buy to do this service on a 2004 Heritage Softail...and a checklist of things to check over.
I don't want to spend 300 bucks for the harley shop to do an oil change and adjust my cables...I can do that myself and save the cash.
Oh yeah...I think your right...I do recall seeing that in the manual.
to the second answer: I've heard that...but then I've heard that it doesn't void the warrentee...
AND ABOUT you sly comment about the mileage...I had two babies in the past two years...worked real close to home...DIDN'T GET OUT MUCH DUE TO HAVING CHILDREN...plus it is an 04 which I BOUGHT in December of 05...so what's your point again about my milage?
oops...I mean december of 04...Dealer had 05 already out and 06's would be on the way in 6 months...so I got a great deal...
Good answer Bennett...I just don't see the point in having HD shop do the work when I am perfectly capable of doing this myself...I used to do all my own work on my sportster...but of course that bike did not have a warrentee...
anybody know where i can find an old harley in new york, besides ebay? i'm putting a bobber together and am really trying to find an old wreck, mostly for the motor and trans and few misc. parts to make wiring it up and things like that a little easier. i'm using a flyrite choppers roller for the bike, now i just need to find that old wreck!
i just wonder if these bikes are ALL AMERICAN. im curious because thats the impression i have of them (for, i dont know what reason, i dont think anyones ever told me this). any way im thinkin on buying my self a nightster what do you guys think of them?

I am in desperate need of a coil for my 4 PLUG, 77 Shovelhead; Being that finding parts for a 4 plug shovel ignition is such a pain, I am thinking about converting over to electronic ignition, but I don't know anything about it ... any old Harley experts out there?
I just got a 1974 Harley Davidson SX 175 enduro bike. I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to buy parts to restore this bike. I have been searching the web and cant find any good places to buy parts.
My husband is restoring a 79 sportster, but the shops around here don't work on them, and even through Harley Davidson, you can not get parts for a bike that old. We are looking for like a catalog that specializes in this year, or at least includes it, and i am not having much luck finding anything online. Please help us out, there is a lot of history in the bike we are restoring.
Looking for good used or rebuildable parts for a '79 H-D FLH restoration project. Any ideas besides e-bay?
to jack f, I used to live in Austin, and I have been to Bud's many times, but that was a different time and a different bike. Don't like buying parts sight unseen, and I had one or two minor issues with some of Bud's staff.
