Harley Pipes Archives

It appears that the years and miles have put residue at the point where my mufflers attach to the exhaust pipes. I cannot get this bond to break loose and don't want to tear up my system trying to get them off the pipes. Thanks for any assistance.

I can't believe it. Given, my bike has been known to set off a few car alarms, but people understand that loud pipes save lives. Sometimes I feel a little bad about waking people up at night, but its a small price to pay for my safety. And the cop that gave me the ticket said that if he were the dictator of the city, he would impound my bike and then send it to the crusher if I didn't put the stock pipes back on. Can you believe that commie crap? Whats this country coming to?

if i'm computer ( microrocessor ) controlled, why does my dealer say dyno is required or it wont run right.my other harleys have been carbed,so change in elevation would require tuning or jetting. seems my 2007 96 inch fuel injected computor controlled should remap it's self to achieve max. gain. they want 300 smackers to remap and dyno. line me out here as i have never had a computor bike and sure dont want to meltdown a 20.000 dollar investment. thanks to all

I've tried "blue job " , acetone , oven cleaner , brake cleaner and scraping with the edge of an olfa blade with no luck - any suggestions ? Thanks .

I am wanting some loud pipes for my New Harley Sportster 1200 Custom the stock pipes are just not loud enough. Which Harley Pipes will make my bike loud? I dont want to do any adjusting to the engine.

Looking to put new pipes on a softail heritage. Right now stuck on Thunderheaders, Vance and Hines and Rineharts. Cant decide. Also stuck between getting 2 in 1 or duel exhaust.

Do I need to rejet the carbs on my Harley low rider if I install new SLIP ON pipes?? If so should I pay to have it done with a dyno or do it myself? Thanks to those motorcycle enthusiasts with answers for me!

I have a 2006 Dyna and I found out here that changing my stock pipes to Screamin' Eagles isn't hard. Can someone tell me actually HOW to do this? Thanks!

I've just obtained a Harley Davidson and the pipes are badly weathered and have rust ALL over them. I'm new to motorcyles and know little about this kind of stuff. What is a good way to remove lots of rust from the chrome on the exhaust pipes?

She can't help it, bless her heart. My wife rides on the back of my Harley with me everywhere, but she has a habit of getting her boots against my hot pipes, and her boot leather melts to them. After I get my pipes hot, what can I use to clean it off with??? I was told to use Easyoff oven cleaner. Anyother suggestions???

can you remove the baffles from a stock 1200c-2008?
