How can I complain to Erik Buell about the crappy job Harley-Davidson dealerships do with his bikes?
I'd like to get his e-mail address, if you have it. They don't have an e-mail link at the Buell or H-D websites. I believe it is because they would get a trunk load of grief about how much H-D dealerships and sales people hate the Buell bikes. Hide 'em in the back. Don't know the prices. Haven't ridden them. Hate them. Think they are stupid. Don't know the accessories. Can't sell, won't sell, lower seats (Buells are WAY too tall). The dealerships hate them, won't EVER let you ride one, don't want to service them and generally should not be selling them. I think Buell should buy their motors from someone else and get rid of H-D. Of course, I can't complain to Erik Buell because he's hiding somewhere. If you agree, post your answer below. If you know how to get in touch with him, please share.
I agree totally.
Buell makes some really great motorcycles, but many HD dealers seem like they resent having to sell them.
I think they would sell much better at a "big four" dealer.
Harley Davidson now owns Buell. They bought the whole company in 2003. Erik Buell still works for them, but doesn’t own it anymore…….md
There are some dealerships that deal well with the Buells and some that don’t. Shop around as there are HD dealers everywhere!
I have not had that experience at all, but the owner or manager of the shop is who you need to talk to. Do you really think someone at a CEO level or any other executive cares about one little salesman’s attitude or lack of knowledge? Not trying to sound like a smartass, just saying that will come much closer to getting the desired result than sending an email to Harley or Buell so some executive’s administrative assistant can just delete it.
Agreed you need to talk to a sales manager, and if he’s still callous, then perhaps a regional manager (or person)
I knew HD guy dislike (or some flat out hate) sports bikes, but hell, they are a business and do want to make money. Why would they not help someone (or a group of people) out. They’re practically pushing you to the imports. Then again…Buell doesn’t sell well, and it is a primarily cruiser/tourer shop. Lots just don’t WANT to know what a sport bike is all about. *shrug*
Sounds like you have a crappy dealer or it’s you they hate.
My dealer Stone Mountain Harley Davidson in Lilburn, GA has been
great. Took the Rider’s Edge class connected to the dealership & then bought a new 2009 Buell Blast from them. They treat me just like they do the folks buying the big bikes. I have been made to feel like part of a family.
If you have a motorcycle endorsement, you should be able to get a test ride. I was given an option of the high or low seat when I got the bike & given a personal walk thru with the bike to be sure I was ok before I drive it off the lot.
Maybe YOUR attitude is the problem.
Loving my Buell Blast.
that’s why when i wanted a sport bike Buell was not on my list
you have to deal with the Harley dealers crap
