How much room is there to haggle on a Harley-Davidson 883 Iron?
I am looking to get a new Harley Davidson 883 Iron and have no real idea of what kind of concessions I can get out of the dealer. I'm looking at about 700 dollars worth of accessories that I want, and maybe an extended warranty. Is that possible? How much haggling can one do with HD?
are you shopping at an MSRP dealership or a bendover tax dealership? if it’s an MSRP dealership then i’d say 700 bucks worth of perks is too much to ask for on an 883. you can usually get the dealerships to waive their setup fee, and maybe (maybe!) break loose with a gift card equal to the shipping fee. in my experience that’s about all you can hope for. you know why? cuz harleys are selling much better than gm or chrysler cars. lol!
You would be doing very well to get $500.00 of accessories out of a Harley dealer. Forget the extended warranty that will never happen. If you get anything out of them it should be considered a victory. Harley dealers are not ones who haggle often.
Probably about 883 cubic inches, unless it comes with a really big seat - in which case a Bum full!?!?!
Either way, it depends on the dealer. Shop around, play them off against one another - in these desperate times, much haggling can be much rewarding.
Good luck!
It depends on how good of a haggler/negotiator you are and how desperate the dealer is to move inventory.
One little trick you may want to try is to buy the bike the last day of the month. If dealers have had a bad month, they are looking to make their monthly quotas and may be more willing to deal. Playing a couple of dealer off of each other ( as mentioned above ) can also work in your favour.
you can try to haggle for accessories and it may work but forget the extended warranty. they won’t honor it if it breaks down anyway. also, you’ll save a lot of money if you just get the standard 883 and put a set of shorty progressive shocks on it and spray paint it flat black.
Harleys and all luxury items are not selling right now. You can haggle the price down a LOT. Go for it!
If they won’t deal then get something else anyway. There are plenty of grate used Harleys and have you even looked at the Yamahas lately. Very nice!

Like the answers below, given the current economic climate, you should be able to haggle one hell of a good deal on any motorcycle! Get in there and lowball. You don’t get what you don’t ask for.
