Putting stock pipes back on my Harley.?
I am thinking about putting my stock pipes back on my bike. Is it ok to leave the jets in for the free flow exhaust or do I have to go back to the original jetting?

You will run rich with those jets. Better to put the original jets back.
I’d be willing to bet you will probably have to have the jets changed
You have to re-jet.
you’ll need to adjust the jets accordingly, not necessarily stock settings, because you’ve modified the air intake.
The stock pipes are going to be more restrictive, so you are probably going to have to switch the jets back as well.
It won’t run quite as good, but your neighbors won’t cuss you every time you ride down the street.
Not necessarily, You haven’t stated what altitude you are driving at or what type of Carb you have. A modern Constant Velocity carb(CV) will handle most changes in altitude and jets. I suggest trying the stock pipes for a little while with the jets you have now, if you have a CV carb. If you have an after market carb like S/S or Mikuni and you drive in altitude, you may have to change them. Hope this helps.~desertrat
u might need to adjust the mix just a bit if u still have the hi flow air cleaner. the stock pipes will have a bit more backpressure than the free flowing pipes. easiest way to tell if u need to adjust the mix: if the plugs start to turn coal black, or if the bike hesitates when u roll hard on the gas, or starts popping on decel.
Listen to "desertrat" …………….. Might be a bit rich, but try it out first,…………… And this is only if you are doing this yourself,……………. If not and the work is being done by a shop go ahead and have them re-jet back to stock specs and re-tune.
Since the stock pipes are more restrictive, you will need to rejet the carbs. Otherwise, you’re going to run rich.
just put everything back stock
Thats the best idea i have heard yet and go back the orig. jets
Jets must be changed.
Original jetting.
Do you have an aftermarket air cleaner too? If so you may have to jet somewhere in between stock and where you are now.
