Swapping Harley exhaust flanges?
I have bought a new set of pipes, and they are currently in the mail. What I was wondering is how do I take the exhaust flanges off the old set and install on the new set.This is for an 03 sportster 1200.

duck bill snap ring expanding pliers, they will grip blunt end snap rings, not the hole type
you take the snap rings off and the flanges will come off, piece of cake
i would suggest that you consult a motorcycle mechanic or something because u dnt wanna risk doing it wrong
if the new pipes are made for the bike they should come with the flanges
Remove the snap rings and slide the flanges off.Make sure you use new exhaust gaskets.
Andy got it right…. there are no holes in the ring for snap ring pliers… just grab each end with pliers (vise grip) and pull apart until they slip off.
