I have small rust pits in the chrome of my pipes on my harley. I don't want to have to buy new pipes right now, so if anyone has any knowledge on the matter, please share it with me.
I bought a Genuine Harley windshield for my Harley from a Harley Dealer, back in April, less the 90 days ago and more then 30 days has pasted. I took the windshield back to the same deal because one on the quick release clamps broke. With receipt in hand! First the counter man said they can’t warranty it because I put reflective tape on the bottom of the front of the windshield. I said it’s the clamp that’s broken, and the nuts, of all things, have rust on them. He went and talked to the parts manage, back and forth a few times and the parts manager came out to tell me it’s a 30 warranty not a 90 day warranty. They are going to replace the clamp, because they are deep down nice guys but not the windshield because they can’t warranty rusty nuts.
The worries part of talking to the parts manage is he said they can’t warranty rust on the nuts because they don’t know what environment the bike was stored in. I asked to see the warranty document and he said there wasn’t one.
I've just obtained a Harley Davidson and the pipes are badly weathered and have rust ALL over them. I'm new to motorcyles and know little about this kind of stuff. What is a good way to remove lots of rust from the chrome on the exhaust pipes?
