depends on what kind of sound you think is best, the best performance will come from a two into one tuned length header system. Supertrapp comes to mind!
You know of course you have awakened the sleeping giant, right?

before you go waking the neighbors, Check out this website someone turned me on to the other day: http://www.harley-performance.com/harley-exhaust.html
You may find exactly what you need.
Chop says a 2 into 1, but I gotta say, I’m not impressed by ‘em. Low RPM performance at best. They cant flow at high RPM.
Nothing changes this abiding truth: There’s a huge difference in having just an obnoxiously loud Harley and a loud Harley that at least performs well. You’re the only one that has to be pleased, and your bike will react well if its happy too…
Why would you care about performance, you bought a harley.
Why do HD guys not give a crap about performance when they choose an antique bike and accept 1940 era 40-60hp as fine and dandy, then suddenly they are concerned with horsepower and they wanna add an expensive loud muffler to add perhaps 2 HP. Sorry other bikes of the same CC start out at double the horsepower. Have a little consideration for other people and stick with a quiet muffler on you low horsepower under performing fashion accessory. The rest of us won’t be impressed with your loudass gutless bike.
The stock one. There is no excuse for a bike that is both slow and loud. And in the case of sportbikes, the aftermarket pipes make them ten times louder and maybe 5% faster. It’s not worth it.
I liked screaming eagle on my carburated bikes. I have true dual Reinhardt’s on my current bike and like them. You probably wont see much difference with just exhaust. I have seen the dyno sheets and 2 into 1 does provide better results.

Harley should use a huge, quiet muffler like the ones on some Buells. There is no reason for a POS to be a loud, obnoxious POS.
