What is the deal with the loud exhaust double standard?
I got pulled over and received a ticket for "muffler exceeding noise limits" violation. My question is: why is ok for a freakin' Harley motorcycle to have an exhaust that shakes the neighborhood and not a passenger vehicle that has been modified just a little bit that is bearly louder than stock?
i agree 100% with you. those motorcycles are so loud. stupid law
On a bike it’s a safety issue, a lot of car drivers don’t see bikes or are too damn stupid to look properly. With the louder exhaust you will hear them before you see them.
It is a double standard. If loud pipes on a Harley is for safety sake why do these riders not wear full-face helmets, skin protection suits and use running lights during the day?
Also, loud pipes is a very poor solution since you mainly hear the bike AFTER it has passed.
is your muffler ripped or did you get a sports echaust put in
if you put a sports exhuast in you shjould check if yours is iligeal because some exhausts are iligeal like an akarapovic exhaust foe bikes are illigeal
Thats a very good question. Also, why will a cop give you a ticket for a cracked windshield saying it’s not safe if a rock hits it again, when you can ride a motorcycle around with an open face helmet.
